I had a privilege of working with On Broadway Chico for a vintage car engagement session and it was amazing. Before we get to the photoshoot, let’s talk about On Broadway Chico.
On Broadway Chico is a newly renovated historic estate that encapsulates the historic 1920s that we all love. The home was renovated by Frank & Kasia Lewis and has a very special place in my family’s heart. The estate was previously owned by my wife’s gram and was the home that her mom grew up in.
The On Broadway Chico estate is a hidden gem of the historic Barber Town District of Chico, which is just a short walk away from downtown. The estate features, century old palm trees in the front, stunning gathering spaces including a ballroom, conservatory, media room and large modern kitchen. It also has 4 en suites which are perfect for any and all event lodging. My personal favorite feature of the main house is the speakeasy in the basement level of the estate. This room really does take you back in time. Hidden behind a secret door that looks like shelving for canned goods, this speakeasy is the perfect place to have all kinds of gatherings.
Frank, one of the owners is also a car enthusiast, especially with the old classic cars. He restores all the cars they have to offer. I rented a gorgeous sea foam green 1955 Chevy Station Wagon for this engagement session and it was amazing. The couple loved it and it was just as much a character in the story we told as Don & Steph were. These classic cars are a MUST for your engagement session as well as styled shoot, portrait or even wedding! The On Broadway team actually allows you to rent these beauties for your event. You can pick from their ever growing list and have it there as a chauffeur to or from your event or you can even rent it out to stay at your wedding/event as a photo op for you and your guests!
If this isn’t your sign to go out and rent yourself one of these beautiful cars for your wedding or next shoot then I don’t know what is!
